'Shadowhunters' renewed for third season

Shadowhunters has been renewed for a 20-episode long third season.

The cast of the Freeform show announced the exciting news during a Facebook Live video on Friday as part of the network’s upfronts presentation. Season three of Shadowhunters will air in 2018.

The second half of Season two, which will start airing on June 5, will pick up with the Shadowhunters and Downworlders coming to terms with what happened at the New York Institute in the winter finale.

Game of Thrones and Humans actor Will Tudor is joining the show in the upcoming episodes as Sebastian, a new Shadowhunter to the New York Institute.
